Finally, after years of waiting, there is a velodrome here in Boulder, and it is indoors to boot! Boulder Indoor Cycling has built a velodrome and it is now open for business. I stopped by their open house event and had a look around. I took a few pictures and captured a little video during an open riding session to share with everyone. I stopped by towards the end of the open house, but there were still plenty of people there checking it out and riding the track so it looked like they had a good turn out. I’m sure I’ll be back again to check out some races, and who knows, maybe even try my hand at it too. I’ll…

Yesterday I finally got out for my second day of bike commuting. It took a little longer than I expected to get back out there. Mainly because I had to wait until the weekend to find time to replace my busted shifters, but also because my arse was still mad at me for the first time. During this time the World Bicycle Relief organization will be matching all donations dollar-for-dollar up to $750,000. So, in this season of giving, you can buy that outdoor enthusiast on your list a special gift while helping out a worthy cause at the same time.

I managed to get things to hold in a middle gear but I don’t know how long that will last and I don’t want to have to climb any more hills holding the shift lever in place. I’ll find some cheap shifters and break levers to slap on and I’ll be back out there soon. In the…
